Luther's Rose

"...those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint."

Isaiah 40:31

Welcome!

Village Lutheran Church was founded in 1946 and  is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Village Lutheran Church  is a congregation of those gathered by the Spirit of the Lord around His saving Word and Sacraments.  At the center of our life together is the divine service of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.  By His holy cross and resurrection, we are given forgiveness and new life in His name.  We joyfully hold to the teachings of the Scriptures as they are confessed in the Small Catechism of Martin Luther, the Augsburg Confession, and the entire Book of Concord of 1580.

We invite you to share with us in these gifts and so to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ.  Through Him we are called out of darkness into God's marvelous light.

NEED A RIDE?

Members who are having problems that keep them from attending the Church Service of choice are asked to call the Church Office.  Sue will take the information and a member will contact you to help you be more specific in what each member needs.  Some may need transportation and others may wish to be a part of our phone service that brings the service to your home.  We will want to know how we can contact.  It will take just a few minutes to help solve your problem.  Call daily between 9:00 & 4:00.  If there is not an immediate answer, please leave a message with a call back number, as Sue is frequently taking calls from other members.  Let us help you!

WORSHIP MUSIC

Do the adult choir and handbell choir make a meaningful contribution to worship services service at Village Lutheran?  If you responded in the positive, we look forward to your positive response to our request for willing participants in both groups.  A bell choir requires a minimum of 6 people to make a commitment to play bells and come regularly to rehearsals.  Beginners are welcome.  If the adult choir is to sing in 3 or 4 parts, at least 8-10 singers are needed.  Please tell Judy Berger of your willingness to participate in either or both choirs either after a church service, or call 997-6911 or email jhanddo@aol.com Watch the Sunday bulletins for more information on rehearsal times and dates.  Judy Berger, Director of Music

LUTHERANS FOR LIFE

The magi knew Jesus was more than a baby—they recognized His star, they traveled hundreds of miles, they presented kingly gifts, but most telling of all, they worshiped Him. The magi recognized Jesus as God. Because Jesus was more than a baby, His life, death, and resurrection have eternal significance. His life, death, and resurrection also have temporal significance. The price He paid to redeem all people gives value to all people. That means every baby is more than a baby . . .

Every unborn baby is more than a baby! He or she is a person for whom Jesus lived, died, and rose again." Rev. Dr. James I .Lamb, executive director of Lutherans For Life. A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life / www.lutheransforlife.org / 888-364-LIFE
